eKindling presentation of Sugar and OLPC at Y4iT

eKindling was invited to speak about the Sugar Learning Platform, One Laptop per Child project and eKindling at Y4iT 2009. Y4iT is an annual event spearheaded by the UP ITTC ( UP Information Technology Training Center), and is the premiere youth congress in information technology in the Philippines. This year's event had a record breaking 18,000 registrations composed primarily of the youth, as well as education practitioners. The 4-day event was also graced by various IT experts as well as policy makers in the Philippines.

The eKindling presentation was attended by over a hundred people and it focused on the Sugar Learning Platform, its strengths, relevance and potential in the Philippines. A short demo of the OLPC XO-1 laptop was also done as well as its roadmap. The talk ended on what eKindling is all about, what it is trying to accomplish and invited the audience to join the community.

eKindling was represented at Y4iT by Jerome Gotangco, Ryan Letada and Sandeep Chandiramani.
